Google's Pixel 11 Pro Fold trims weight and brightens display amid crowded foldable market

Google's latest foldable retains last year's basic design while adding a lighter body, brighter screen, improved wireless charging and a new camera sensor.

The device keeps the same overall format as the Pixel 10 Pro Fold rather than adopting the wider designs being introduced by China-based rivals. Google is positioning the Pixel 11 Pro Fold in a market that also includes the passport-sized iPhone Duo and a growing field of competing foldables.

The hardware changes are modest. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold measures 5mm when unfolded, compared with 5.2mm for the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, and 10.1mm when folded, versus 10.8mm. It is also 19 grams lighter, though the difference is hard to notice without holding both generations side by side. It remains thicker than devices such as the Honor V6 Magic.

Google has added a brighter display, better wireless charging and an updated camera sensor. The new olive color is a subtle addition. In use, the screen is pleasant despite a clearly visible crease, and the cameras are capable even though they fall short of the Pixel 11 Pro's setup.

The Pixel 10 Pro Fold was already a sturdy device, and Google has maintained that build quality. With more foldable options available, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold may have difficulty attracting first-time foldable buyers unless they are committed Pixel fans.
