Wellness Brand Definition Blurs as Food, Beauty and Home Products Converge
A panel discussion examined how food, beauty, oral care and home gadgets are increasingly marketed as wellness products, raising questions about what defines the category. The conversation highlighted growth areas including hormone health, gummy supplements and GLP-1 support.
The question of what qualifies as a wellness product took center stage in a panel discussion this week, as categories from oral care to shower filters push into the health and wellness space. Host Gabi Barkho was joined by West Coast correspondent Lexy Lebsack and Rachel Hirsch, founder and managing partner at Wellness Growth Ventures.
Wellness Growth Ventures has invested in brands including BelliWelli and Flaus, giving Hirsch a view into how emerging companies position themselves. The panel focused on the way food, beverage, beauty and even home gadgets now intersect with wellness.
Growth areas flagged for attention included hormone health, oral care, gummy supplements and GLP-1 support. Those segments illustrate how retailers and brands are adapting to the convergence of categories that were once treated separately.
The panel examined the blurring boundaries of the health and wellness market as everyday products increasingly adopt health-oriented marketing and positioning. That shift is making the lines between wellness and other consumer categories harder to draw.
