111Skin’s Eva Alexandridis and Olivia de Rothschild Put Longevity and Instinct at the Center of Beauty

At the WWD x SKP Global Fashion & Beauty Summit in Wuhan, 111Skin cofounder Eva Alexandridis and Parfums Caron artistic director Olivia de Rothschild traced the early experiences that shaped their careers and their views on longevity in beauty.

The panel, held last week in Wuhan in partnership with Chinese luxury retailer SKP, paired Alexandridis, cofounder and chief creative officer of 111Skin, with de Rothschild, artistic director of Parfums Caron and founder of Oli’s Lab. WWD international editor Miles Socha moderated the conversation, which moved between personal history and the business of science-led skincare.

Alexandridis traced her company’s longevity credentials to its origins: 111Skin was founded in Dubai in 2007, and its first product was developed around helping skin recover before and after surgery. That brief, she said, was always about improving results over the long term rather than delivering an immediate effect.

She argued that the wider market has now caught up with that approach, with consumers increasingly focused on the long-term quality of their skin and on living longer, rather than on instant results. Longevity has become a driving theme across beauty and wellness, spanning treatments such as IV drips and ingredients such as peptides.

De Rothschild’s route into the industry was shaped by formative experiences of her own, and the discussion touched on how instinct rather than calculated planning has guided both executives’ entrepreneurial decisions.

Alexandridis also credited childhood exposure to traditional Chinese massage with reshaping her understanding of self-care, an early influence she linked to the philosophy behind her brand’s technical, science-led positioning.
