TechnicoFlor Acquires Grasse-Based Fragrance House Azur Fragrance
French fragrance compounder TechnicoFlor has acquired Azur Fragrance, a family-owned perfume composition company based in Grasse, France, to bolster its natural perfumery capabilities and international reach.
TechnicoFlor, founded in 1981 by François-Patrick Sabater and led by Christopher Sabater since January 2025, has purchased Azur Fragrance, an independent fragrance house founded in 1978 by Andreas Von Loringhoven in Grasse, the historic capital of perfumery in Southern France.
The acquisition aligns with TechnicoFlor's growth strategy, adding Azur Fragrance’s expertise in natural perfumery and cosmetics. The move also strengthens the group’s footprint in Germany, where Azur Fragrance has a strong presence.
TechnicoFlor reported revenues of $58.4 million in 2025, with 60% coming from international markets. The company employs nearly 230 people, including 14 perfumers, and supplies fragrance and cosmetic brands in more than 70 countries. It is also known for its eco-rating tool for fragrance formulas.
“We are very pleased to welcome the Azur Fragrances teams into the TechnicoFlor family,” said Christopher Sabater. “This acquisition allows us to strengthen our leadership in key segments such as natural perfumery and cosmetics, while also gaining access to complementary expertise.”
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
