Fairmont Hotels & Resorts launches global renovation drive
Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is renovating 20% of its portfolio worldwide, including major redevelopments in Bermuda and Geneva, with reopenings slated for 2026 and 2027.
Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has announced a significant global renovation program, with 20% of its portfolio currently undergoing active transformation across the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Asia. The initiative is part of the brand's commitment to 'Make Special Happen.'
Among the marquee projects are the Fairmont Southampton in Bermuda and the Fairmont Grand Hotel Geneva in Switzerland. The Bermuda property is set to reopen in fall 2026, while the Geneva hotel is expected to welcome guests again in 2027.
CEO Omer Acar stated that Fairmont remains a place where the world gathers, blending historic treasures with modern masterpieces. He emphasized the brand's forward-looking approach, pointing to new properties such as Fairmont Doha, Fairmont Hanoi, and Fairmont Tokyo as examples of defining urban landscapes and cultural narratives.
The renovation program also includes upgrades at existing properties. For instance, the Forbes Five-Star Fairmont Pacific Rim in Vancouver has introduced The Wellness Club, described as the city's premier destination for elevated self-care and holistic wellbeing.
Fairmont's global portfolio spans landmark hotels and contemporary icons, and the renovation effort aims to ensure these properties deliver unparalleled experiences for discerning guests while honoring the brand's heritage.
