Perth Airport reveals designs for new terminal with 10,000sq m of retail and dining

Perth Airport has unveiled concept designs for a new terminal that will include around 10,000sq m of retail, dining and hospitality space, part of a multi-billion-dollar overhaul of Western Australia's main aviation gateway.

The commercial space will sit within a 159,000sq m terminal, which serves as the centrepiece of the airport's wider One Airport programme to bring flight operations together in a single central precinct.

The building will be almost three times the size of the existing terminals 3 and 4 combined, and 25% larger than terminals 1 and 2 combined, according to the concept designs.

The airport said the development is intended to support international connectivity, tourism and trade, while creating jobs, drawing investment and widening opportunities for travel retail and food and beverage operators.

Perth Airport reported a record 18.4 million passengers in FY2026, of which 5.55 million were international travellers. Total traffic is projected to reach 30.8 million by FY2046.

International passenger numbers are forecast to more than double from FY2025 levels to 11.4 million, adding pressure and opportunity for a larger retail and dining footprint.
