Zetter Group to Open First Hotel Outside U.K. in Amsterdam in 2027

The Zetter Group will open The Zetter 717 Amsterdam in January 2027, its first property outside the U.K. The 24-key boutique hotel will occupy a historic canal house on Prinsengracht in the city’s UNESCO-listed Canal District.

The property will be set in a historic canal house on Prinsengracht, within Amsterdam’s UNESCO-listed Canal District. The main building dates to 1810 and was constructed in the Empire style, while a rear structure traces back to the 17th-century Dutch Golden Age.

The Zetter 717 Amsterdam will have 24 guestrooms. It has been redesigned by James Thurstan Waterworth, whose studio Thurstan also worked on The Zetter Bloomsbury. The design layers aged brass, reclaimed timber, antique mirrors and rich textiles through the interiors.

Two public spaces are planned. The Garden Room will have a botanical, conservatory-style setting for breakfast and overlook the hotel’s private garden. The Library will be an intimate spot for drinks and small bites, with book-lined walls, deep rust and burnt-terracotta tones, aged brass detailing and reclaimed oak.

Kevin Rockey, managing director of The Zetter Group, described the move into Amsterdam as an exciting moment and a natural next step for the collection.
