Victoria Beckham opens first New York boutique in SoHo

The new store occupies a space at 150 Mercer Street, where original ceiling details and other architectural features have been kept intact. It was co-designed with artist Alexander May and designer Ole Lund of LNP, who aimed to translate the aesthetic of Victoria Beckham's Dover Street flagship in London into a distinctly SoHo character.

The boutique carries the label's full range, including ready-to-wear, fragrance and beauty. Beckham said New York has played a central part in her professional history: she presented her collections there for the first time in 2008 and later launched her beauty business in the city.

With her teams now based in both London and New York, the designer said having retail spaces in the two cities feels "incredibly special and exciting." The new location deepens the brand's U.S. presence after a temporary retail installation at Bal Harbour Shops in Miami, which opened May 29 and runs through next month.

The Mercer Street store is the brand's first permanent retail address in New York and is intended as an intimate setting rooted in a sense of home, according to the company.
