Travel + Leisure Co. Invests $343 Million in Two Timeshare Acquisitions
Travel + Leisure Co. has acquired Yes& Vacations and agreed to purchase Spinnaker Resorts for a combined $343 million upfront, signaling ongoing consolidation in the timeshare industry.
Travel + Leisure Co. is expanding its timeshare portfolio through two major acquisitions totaling $343 million in upfront payments. The company has completed the purchase of Yes& Vacations and is in the process of acquiring Spinnaker Resorts, adding new properties to its network.
Executives at Travel + Leisure Co. described the timeshare segment as a lending business disguised as a hospitality operation, a dynamic that is fueling industry consolidation. The deals reflect a strategic push to scale up and capture more of the vacation ownership market.
The acquisitions come as the timeshare sector sees increased merger activity, driven by access to consumer financing and recurring revenue streams. Travel + Leisure Co. aims to leverage its existing customer base and operational expertise to integrate the new resorts.
Financial terms beyond the upfront payment were not disclosed. The pending Spinnaker Resorts deal is subject to customary closing conditions, which Travel + Leisure Co. expects to satisfy soon.
