Thai Family Office Sansiri in Talks to Buy Lake Como EDITION for €230 Million

Bain Capital and Omnam Group are in exclusive negotiations to sell The Lake Como EDITION to Thai family office Sansiri for €230 million, highlighting investor appetite for repositioned luxury hospitality assets.

Bain Capital and Omnam Group acquired the historic Britannia Excelsior hotel on Lake Como’s western shore in 2021 and transformed it into a five-star property under Marriott’s EDITION brand. The redevelopment introduced 148 rooms, including 24 suites and two penthouses, along with lake-view dining, the largest floating pool on the lake, a lido, a Longevity spa, and a conference centre.

The property, now fully operational as The Lake Como EDITION, is reportedly in exclusive talks with Sansiri, a Thai family office backed by Sansiri Public Company and XSpring Capital. The deal is valued at €230 million.

Sansiri’s strategy focuses on income-generating assets managed by leading international brands to deliver unique guest experiences. The potential acquisition underscores sustained interest from global investors in refurbished, higher-end hospitality properties.

The EDITION brand targets a younger, international clientele with a focus on design, wellness, and signature dining. The Lake Como EDITION opened earlier this year and has quickly become a landmark on the lake.
