Queen Alia International Airport opens concessionaire search

Airport International Group, operator of Queen Alia International Airport in Amman, has launched a call for commercial expressions of interest from regional and international operators. The group is seeking master concessionaires with expertise in food & beverage, duty free and convenience, with opportunities available either as individual concession packages or as a fully integrated master concession model.

The tender is backed by an ambitious airport enhancement plan that includes terminal expansion and reconfiguration of commercial areas. The project is set to increase the airport's passenger capacity by 50%, significantly enlarging its commercial footprint and creating what the operator describes as immersive customer journeys that celebrate Jordan's sense of place.

The incumbent duty-free retailer at the airport is Avolta, trading as Amman Duty Free. The selection of new long-term partners will determine the future commercial landscape of Jordan's main gateway to the world.

The call for partners comes on the back of strong traffic performance, with 2025 representing the highest passenger traffic year in the airport's history. This adds momentum to the opportunity for concessionaires looking to enter or expand in the region.
