Maisons Pariente Opens Saint Roch Alpine Retreat in Courchevel 1850
Maisons Pariente has opened Saint Roch, its fifth property in France and second in the Alps, positioned directly on the Bellecôte piste in Courchevel 1850. The long-standing resort house returns this winter under a new identity.
Saint Roch sits at the foot of the slopes on the Bellecôte piste, a short walk from the centre of the Courchevel 1850 village. It becomes the fifth Maisons Pariente address in France and the group's second in the Alps.
The property is a familiar institution in the resort, now reborn under a new name and concept. It was conceived as a genuine winter home in the mountains, in keeping with the group's approach of rooting each house in its surroundings.
Interiors are inspired by the Eastern dacha and by ancient Persian kingdoms, unfolding in a hushed atmosphere of patinated surfaces, velvet and handcrafted objects. Nothing in the decor is purely ornamental, according to the design intent, and the landscape is treated as something lived in rather than put on display.
Every detail was shaped by sisters Leslie Kouhana and Kimberley Cohen, drawing on childhood memories. The architecture comes from studio Friedmann & Versace, which built the project around a dialogue between heritage, craft and contemporary design.
Wood, selected for the richness of its textures, is played against stone, textiles and touches of bronze, with soft lighting used to reveal surfaces and finer details. The result is intended as a lived-in interior in which the architecture recedes enough to leave room for atmosphere.
