John F. Kennedy Airport serves up New York dining experiences as Terminal 5 redevelopment advances
Fraport USA, in partnership with JetBlue and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, has opened new dining venues at John F. Kennedy International Airport’s Terminal 5 as part of a major refresh. The multimillion-dollar upgrade introduces more than 40 new concessions and amenities, including art installations and a redesigned centre concourse inspired by New York’s parks.
Nearly a dozen new venues are now open, following the first concession launches earlier in 2025. The wider transformation is expected to be completed by the end of the year. Among the latest additions are Eataly, which opened in partnership with HMSHost and Fraport USA, and popular New York dining concepts Nom Wah and The Halal Guys, debuting with airport hospitality group OTG.
The refresh aims to create a stronger sense of place for travellers, moving beyond typical airport retail. Fraport New York Vice President Jose Cuevas said, “At Terminal 5, we are creating more than an airport experience. We are creating a place that reflects the spirit of New York.”
The terminal’s redesign includes thoughtfully designed gathering spaces, art installations, and a concourse that evokes the feel of New York City’s parks. The effort is part of a broader push to offer exceptional dining, retail, and entertainment options that foster discovery, comfort, and connection.
