IKEA Indonesia Deepens Local Sourcing With 18 Suppliers
IKEA Indonesia is expanding collaboration with 18 local suppliers across wood furniture, natural-fibre goods, and home accessories, strengthening the country's role as a global sourcing hub for IKEA products.
PT DFI Retail Nusantara Tbk, which operates IKEA in Indonesia, is broadening partnerships with local producers in three categories: wood furniture, natural-fibre goods, and home accessories. The move reinforces Indonesia's position as a sourcing base for IKEA products sold worldwide.
The retailer currently works with 18 Indonesian suppliers across these product lines. Goods manufactured in Indonesia are distributed domestically and exported to IKEA markets globally, according to Charlie Landale, managing director of IKEA Indonesia.
Landale described the 'Made in Indonesia' initiative as an integrated approach that combines responsible sourcing practices, close collaboration with suppliers, and investment in local capability development.
He added that local sourcing helps reduce transportation distances, shorten delivery times, and enable faster responses to changes in customer demand.
