Le Sereno Saint Barth to Reopen 16 November 2026 After Three-Year Redesign
Le Sereno in Saint Barthélemy will return for the season on 16 November 2026 after a three-year renovation led by owners Luis and Angelica Contreras. The project adds a collection of tropical gardens while keeping the waterfront hotel’s intimate character and service.
The three-year project is described as the most significant evolution in Le Sereno’s history and was personally overseen by the Contreras family, with creative direction from Denys Ridrimont. It aims to bring the tropical landscape into the center of the hotel while retaining the understated spirit associated with both the property and Saint Barthélemy.
Instead of a single garden, the redesign introduces a series of gardens, each with its own atmosphere and identity. Guests arrive beneath a living tunnel formed by coconut palms, a signature tropical tree, before passing through a wider collection of palms, tropical plants and rare trees across the property.
Among the landscape features is a Copernicia fallaensis, a monumental palm with a span exceeding ten meters that is believed to be the only specimen of its kind on the island. It stands next to the new arrival area, which is finished with tropical green walls.
The renovation also seeks to preserve the intimacy, waterfront setting and personal service that have defined Le Sereno for nearly two decades. Luis Contreras said the transformation was intended to express the hotel’s maturity through nature, design and hospitality without changing its identity.
