Giorgio Armani Opens Three-Level Boutique at SKP Wuhan
Giorgio Armani has opened a 6,800-square-foot boutique across three floors at SKP Wuhan, extending the Italian label's presence in central China with a store built around custom decorative details.
The new GIORGIO ARMANI store spans three levels and was fitted out with decorative elements designed specifically for the Wuhan location, which the brand describes as a significant step in its expansion across central China.
The ground floor is given over to women's ready-to-wear, accessories, footwear, eveningwear and eyewear, together with Armani Privé fragrances. It also houses a client lounge, fine-jewelry displays and private fitting rooms.
Men's collections, including formalwear and accessories, occupy the second floor alongside a made-to-measure tailoring area, Parmigiani watch displays and a private fitting suite.
The third floor is a dedicated space for exhibitions and brand events. Its current show, "Giorgio Armani: Geographies of Style," runs until April and is open to the public, tracing how materials, techniques and forms moved between cultures and fed into the designer's visual language.
The exhibition argues that Italian style developed through centuries of exchange rather than in isolation, citing silk's passage from China to Italy and the refinement of velvet in Venice and Genoa. Visitors can follow those encounters through materials, construction and color, with archival Armani pieces on display for close inspection.
The presentation also draws attention to the house's tailoring method, in which padding, stiffening and lining are removed from the traditional jacket so that the garment drapes from the shoulders and moves with the wearer.
