Dave’s Killer Bread Brings Pumpkin Spice Bagels Back Nationwide
Dave’s Killer Bread has revived its Pumpkin Spice Madness bagels after seven years, making them available nationwide through November as it builds a larger seasonal-product strategy.
The whole-grain bread brand is selling the bagels in 15,000 doors nationwide, including at Kroger, Albertsons/Safeway, HEB, Target and Walmart. The product is on shelves now through November.
The return marks a shift from the brand’s earlier regional distribution: the pumpkin spice bagels were previously sold only in certain areas before being discontinued in 2017. This time, the launch is national.
Dave’s Killer Bread is positioning the limited-time item within a broader year-round seasonal shelf strategy. Retailers are increasingly asking for seasonal products, and the company wants to bring more newness to a category it views as stagnant.
Cristina Watson, senior director of brand management for Dave’s Killer Bread, said bread does not have the same pumpkin spice presence as coffee creamers, yogurts, cookies or even beer. Those flavors, she said, can add fun to a category that can otherwise feel boring.
The Pumpkin Spice Madness bagels are made with whole grains and flavored with brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Each serving contains 10 grams of protein and four grams of fiber.
