Cartwright & Butler takes British gifting range into Heathrow and Stansted with Avolta
The premium confectionery and gifting brand ran a summer activation across Heathrow terminals 3 and 5 and three World Duty Free shops at Stansted, built around its Union Jack souvenir range. The campaign ran from 6 August to 9 September and marked the brand's first activation at the Essex airport.
Cartwright & Butler paired prominent merchandising displays with daily product sampling and interactive shopper moments across the six-week programme, which closed on 9 September after the peak summer travel window. The brand described shopper engagement during the period as strong.
The push was built around the company's GB Union Jack souvenir collection, aimed at international travellers looking for British-themed gifts. At its centre was the recently introduced Union Jack Gold edition of the brand's Ultra Thick Double Chocolate Biscuits, sold exclusively through Avolta's World Duty Free stores.
The wider assortment on display included Selection Tins, 200g Biscuit Tins and the newly launched Duo Packs, giving the activation a spread of price points and pack formats across the airport estate.
For Cartwright & Butler, the Stansted rollout was a first: the brand had not previously staged an activation at the airport. It follows the company's inaugural Scottish airport promotion at Edinburgh Airport earlier this year, which was also run in partnership with Avolta.
The campaign points to a widening travel retail footprint for the British gifting specialist, which is leaning on airport-exclusive packaging and sampling to reach departing passengers during the busiest months of the year.
