Avolta completes six-store F&B programme at Palermo Airport

Avolta has completed a six-store food and beverage programme at Palermo Falcone Borsellino International Airport under a new ten-year contract with airport operator Gesap, adding Sicilian wine and regional Italian cuisine.

The final two openings are AMORE Do Eat Better and Planeta Wine Bar. AMORE Do Eat Better is Avolta’s proprietary Autogrill café and restaurant concept, with a menu built around regionally certified Italian ingredients and traditional dishes.

Planeta Wine Bar marks the Sicilian wine producer’s first entry into the travel retail channel. It brings the winery’s more than 30 years of winemaking heritage to the airport.

The six-store line-up follows a ten-year contract extension between Avolta and Gesap. The offer is designed to reflect Sicily through local brands and products while serving both domestic and international travellers.

Massimiliano Santoro, Avolta CEO Italy, said the openings strengthen the company’s presence at Palermo Airport and its long-standing partnership with Gesap. He said combining global F&B expertise with strong local brands and products creates a distinctive offer that reflects Sicily and enhances the experience for domestic and international passengers.

Gianfranco Battisti, CEO of Gesap, said the new outlets form part of the airport operator’s continuing investment in expanding services and improving the passenger experience.
