Best Buy Retools Stores for AI Era with Meta Ray-Ban Shop-in-Shops
Best Buy is rolling out dedicated Meta AI shop-in-shops for Ray-Ban Meta glasses, aiming to position itself as a destination for cutting-edge technology.
Best Buy is transforming its stores into experiential hubs for artificial intelligence products, starting with a new shop-in-shop concept for Ray-Ban Meta glasses. The electronics retailer, an official sales partner for the smart glasses, has begun installing 30-by-30-foot dedicated spaces in select locations.
Patrick McGinnis, Best Buy’s executive vice president and chief revenue officer, said the company plans to have 50 stores with the Meta AI shop-in-shops by the end of the year, with ambitions to increase that number to 200 or more by the end of next year.
The move is driven by customer demand. Best Buy’s own survey data shows that more than 50% of its customers want to see the Ray-Ban Meta glasses in person before purchasing. Since the retailer first launched smaller displays in 100 stores last October, more than 175,000 customers have completed a demo.
Beyond showcasing the product, the shop-in-shops are part of a broader effort to revamp Best Buy’s store layout and create a more flexible retail environment. The retailer is also training staff to assist customers with the AI-powered eyewear, ensuring a knowledgeable experience.
