Bending Spoons agrees to buy Airtable in $1.28B cash deal
Bending Spoons has agreed to acquire Airtable for $1.28 billion in cash, its first deal since going public last month. The price is a steep drop from Airtable's $11 billion peak valuation in 2021.
Bending Spoons said Tuesday it will purchase Airtable, the spreadsheet-and-database platform, for $1.28 billion in cash. The transaction marks the app developer's first acquisition since its public listing last month.
Airtable was founded in 2013 and raised more than $1.4 billion across multiple funding rounds. It reached a valuation of over $11 billion during the 2021 tech boom, but its shares were trading on secondary markets at a valuation of $4 billion earlier this year. Bending Spoons noted that the deal values Airtable at about $2.25 billion when including its current net cash balance.
The target's annual recurring revenue has grown more than 20% year over year to approximately $480 million as of June 2026, said Luca Ferrari, founder of Bending Spoons. He called Airtable "a pioneering brand reshaping how teams organize data and manage critical workflows."
In January, Airtable introduced Superagent, an orchestration platform that lets users deploy a team of AI agents for various tasks. CEO Howie Liu said at the time that Airtable serves over 500,000 organizations, including 80% of the Fortune 100.
