Avolta Provisionally Wins Guam Airport Specialty Retail and F&B Concessions
Avolta has been provisionally awarded the specialty retail and food & beverage concessions at A.B. Won Pat International Airport in Guam. Lotte Duty Free will continue running the retail concession until December 20 as final negotiations proceed.
The Guam International Airport Authority (GIAA) has provisionally approved Avolta's bid for the Speciality Retail Concession and the airport's master food and beverage contract. GIAA Chairman Brian Bamba confirmed that airport management completed evaluations for both concessions and recommended approval of the rankings, which the board accepted.
The selection process now moves to negotiations with the highest-ranked proposer. If talks are unsuccessful, the authority will approach the next-ranked bidder. In both the specialty retail and F&B request-for-proposal processes, Avolta's proposal ranked first.
Long-time incumbent Lotte Duty Free will continue its specialty retail and duty-free operations at the airport until December 20. The interim extension follows a special session of the Guam Legislature called by Governor Lou Leon Guerrero in mid-May to authorise an earlier extension beyond the original July 20 expiry.
The provisional award gives Avolta control of both duty-free retail and food and beverage services at the Pacific gateway, expanding its footprint at the airport beyond its current operations.
