Accor Ties Its 2026-2030 Sustainability Roadmap to Hotel Performance

Accor has refreshed its sustainability strategy under the banner Hosting Change, a 2026-2030 roadmap that links environmental and social commitments directly to hotel performance. The plan spans four areas: future-proof operations, guest experience, talent and the wider ecosystem.

The French hospitality group is building on roughly four decades of environmental and social programs, but the new framework is designed to move sustainability away from a standalone set of commitments and into the commercial core of the business, covering operating costs, asset value, guest experience and staffing.

Coline Pont, who leads the strategy at Accor, said the objective is to turn those links into measurable value, with the roadmap structured around four pillars: future-proof operations, guest experience, talent and the broader ecosystem in which hotels operate.

The group is leaving room for local interpretation. Regions, individual brands, owners and properties are expected to adapt the framework to their own market conditions rather than apply a single global template, with the stated aim of creating shared value across the network.

Demand-side research supports the commercial logic. Accommodations are the trip category where U.S. travelers are most likely to pay a premium for a sustainable option, and hotel websites are the channel where those travelers most often encounter sustainability messaging.

The roadmap also reflects sustainability's expanding role in Accor's corporate leadership, positioning the topic alongside operational excellence rather than as a separate compliance function.
