The Weeknd Debuts ‘Hong Kong’ With Faye Wong at Tour Stop

The Weeknd surprised his Hong Kong audience by debuting a new song, ‘Hong Kong,’ featuring C-pop legend Faye Wong during his After Hours Til Dawn tour stop. The collaboration blends his cinematic synth-pop with Wong’s ethereal vocals, and an official studio release has not yet been announced.

The track, simply titled ‘Hong Kong,’ was performed live during the Hong Kong leg of the After Hours Til Dawn tour. The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, included a feature from Faye Wong, the pioneering alternative C-pop singer.

The live debut quickly drew attention on stage and across social media. It pairs Tesfaye’s dark, cinematic synth-pop with Wong’s ethereal and trailblazing vocal style.

The Hong Kong dedication also has a personal connection. Tesfaye grew up in Scarborough, a sprawling and diverse district of Toronto with a highly established Cantonese-speaking community.

The After Hours Til Dawn tour has been a massive global spectacle, but the Hong Kong stop added a city-specific surprise. The neon-lit, cinematic allure of Hong Kong fits his moody aesthetic, while the Scarborough background gives the tribute a more personal root.

The performance was described as a crossover moment that merges modern Western R&B with a foundational pillar of alternative Chinese pop. Fans are still waiting for an official studio release of the collaboration.
