Space NK Names Emma Simpson-Scott CEO as Andy Lightfoot Steps Down
Space NK's chief marketing officer, Emma Simpson-Scott, will succeed longtime chief executive Andy Lightfoot at the British beauty retailer, which is owned by Ulta Beauty.
The London-based beauty retailer confirmed the leadership change, with Simpson-Scott stepping up from her current role as chief marketing officer to take the top job.
Lightfoot became chief executive in April 2019 and, according to Space NK, steered the business through a stretch of substantial growth and reinvention, culminating in its acquisition by Ulta Beauty last year. He spent a decade with the company in total.
Kecia Steelman, president and chief executive of Ulta Beauty, credited Lightfoot with expanding Space NK, reinforcing its standing as a leading beauty retailer and completing its integration into the Ulta Beauty group, adding that his influence is expected to endure.
Simpson-Scott brings a decade of tenure at Space NK to the CEO role, having served as chief marketing officer for more than seven years before her promotion.
The transition places a long-serving internal executive at the head of the retailer as it operates within the Ulta Beauty portfolio.
