Saks Global Emerges From Bankruptcy, Rebrands as Exemplar Luxury Group

Saks Global has exited Chapter 11 bankruptcy after completing a financial restructuring that cut roughly 75 percent of its debt. The company is now rebranding as Exemplar Luxury Group to signal a new chapter focused on growth and higher standards.

Saks Global announced Friday that it has officially emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy, concluding a financial restructuring that eliminated about three-quarters of its debt. The company also unveiled a new corporate identity, changing its name to Exemplar Luxury Group.

The rebranding is intended to mark a fresh start and hold the retailer to a higher standard of partnership with brands, consumers, and employees, according to CEO Geoffroy van Raemdonck. The move shifts the company's focus from financial restructuring to growth.

As part of its turnaround, Saks Global has begun repaying critical vendors, rebuilding inventory, and halving its overall debt. The owner of Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, and Bergdorf Goodman is now working to regain the trust of the luxury industry after its bankruptcy proceedings.
