Pernod Ricard, Heinemann Open Permanent Whisky Emporium at Sydney Airport Terminal 1
A permanent Whisky Emporium grouping five Pernod Ricard Scotch whisky brands has opened in Sydney Airport Terminal 1 under a partnership with Heinemann Oceania and the airport.
The C-shaped shop-in-shop opened on 4 September in Terminal 1, presenting Chivas Regal, Royal Salute, The Glenlivet, Aberlour and Ballantine's. Dedicated brand zones carry prestige expressions and travel retail exclusives alongside storytelling and product education.
The format takes its cue from the whisky emporium opened by Chivas Brothers in Aberdeen, Scotland, in the 1930s, reinterpreted for today's travel retail setting. Discovery, tasting and gifting are grouped into a single experience-led space.
A mini conveyor belt that echoes an airport baggage carousel, paired with a digital screen, serves as the concept's standout feature. The revolving display can be reworked to spotlight new and exclusive products as well as key gifting occasions such as Christmas and Lunar New Year.
A dedicated Tasting Station gives travellers the chance to work through the portfolio. Among the travel retail exclusives on offer are The Glenlivet Cask Master's Collection 14, 16 and 19 Year Old; Aberlour Suthainn and 13 and 16 Double Charred; and Chivas Regal 18 Year Old Pauillac Cask Edition.
The project is a partnership between Pernod Ricard Global Travel Retail, Heinemann Oceania and Sydney Airport, placing the drinks group's Scotch portfolio inside one of Australia's busiest international terminals.
