Passenger Traffic Growth Outpaces Copenhagen Airports' 6% Rise in H1 Commercial Income
Copenhagen Airports' first-half commercial income rose 6% to DKK1.05 billion (US$164 million) as passenger traffic climbed 9% to a record 16.1 million. Concession revenue at the Danish gateway reached DKK471 million (US$73.6 million).
The airport operator welcomed 16.1 million passengers in the first six months, a 9% increase year-on-year and a record for any half-year period. The growth came despite a 30% decline in traffic to and from the Middle East.
Non-aeronautical income, which includes the shopping centre, car parking, hotels and leasing of premises, advanced 6% to DKK1.05 billion (US$164 million). Within this, concession revenue amounted to DKK471 million (US$73.6 million), also up around 6% from a year earlier.
Overall company revenue rose 9% to DKK2.8 billion (US$450 million), while profit before tax climbed 43% to DKK851 million (US$133 million).
The profit figure benefited from the sale in May 2026 of the company's stake in the Smarter Airports joint venture, through which it developed its Airhart IT platform in partnership with Netcompany.
Chief Executive Christian Poulsen said global demand for air travel remains strong despite rising fuel prices, and more passengers are choosing to travel via Copenhagen.
