Estée Lauder Debuts First Gourmand Fragrance Glimmer Eau de Parfum

The beauty giant enters the gourmand category with Glimmer, featuring notes of macaron rose and raspberry mousse, priced at $160. Hailee Steinfeld fronts the campaign.

Estée Lauder is venturing into new olfactory territory with the launch of Glimmer Eau de Parfum, its first-ever gourmand fragrance. The amber-floral scent, created by perfumers Dominique Ropion, Anne Flipo and Jean-Marc Chaillan of IFF, combines macaron rose accord, raspberry mousse accord and vanilla bean.

The launch, set for Aug. 6, is priced at $160 for a 100ml bottle and $130 for 50ml. The brand is hoping to recapture the blockbuster success of earlier fragrances like White Linen and Pleasures.

Glimmer is positioned to appeal to younger consumers, a demographic that has embraced the gourmand trend. Justin Boxford, Estée Lauder’s global brand president, noted that the brand had not previously played in this space, calling it "a white space" for the brand.

The campaign features actress and singer Hailee Steinfeld, known for her broad appeal among Gen Z and millennial audiences. The marketing push aims to establish Glimmer as a modern classic.

With this launch, Estée Lauder seeks to revive its fragrance heritage while tapping into current consumer preferences for edible-scented notes.
