Choice Hotels Names Insider Dominic Dragisich as CEO
Choice Hotels has appointed Dominic Dragisich as its president and CEO, ending a three-month board search. Dragisich, who has led the company on an interim basis since May 20, will also join the board.
Dominic Dragisich has been named president and CEO of Choice Hotels International, bringing an end to a three-month search by the board. He will also take a seat on the company's board of directors.
Dragisich had been serving as interim chief executive since May 20. The board weighed both internal and external candidates before selecting the longtime insider.
Choice Hotels said Dragisich's rise to the top job was no accident. The company moved him through a range of key leadership roles over nearly a decade, a deliberate effort to prepare him for the chief executive position.
Dragisich now leads the franchisor of hotel brands such as Comfort Inn and Cambria. The appointment comes as Choice Hotels looks to reverse a slump versus rivals in the competitive lodging market.
