CHANEL Opens New Fragrance Manufacture in France
CHANEL has officially opened Venette, a state-of-the-art fragrance manufacturing facility in the Oise region of northern France, consolidating all perfume production under one roof with a €150 million investment.
The facility, located on an 18-hectare site acquired in 2016, spans a 41,600-square-meter complex with a main production building covering 30,000 square meters. It is designed to produce up to 50 million fragrance bottles annually.
The project was a decade in the making. CHANEL announced the development in 2022, received the building keys in November 2025, and plans to begin full operational launch in June 2026.
Between 250 and 300 jobs will be created at Venette. Approximately 200 employees will transfer from CHANEL's existing Compiègne facility, which will now focus exclusively on beauty product manufacturing.
The new site will house every CHANEL perfume, from N°5 to CHANCE EAU SPLENDIDE, the brand's top-performing fragrance franchise globally. The investment comes as the luxury perfume market continues to grow, valued at around $25 billion in 2025 with a 6.2% CAGR.
CHANEL's fragrance division was a primary growth driver in the company's 2025 annual results, which reported total revenue of $19.3 billion, up 2% year over year.
