Birkenstock Opens Largest In-Mall Store in India, Retail Network Reaches 63
Birkenstock has opened a new store in Chennai, its largest in-mall location in India, expanding its national retail network to 63 brand stores, including 26 company-owned outlets.
The new store is the German footwear brand's third in Chennai and marks a strategic push into a market the company says is witnessing growing demand from premium consumers for high-quality, comfort-focused footwear.
The outlet features Birkenstock's signature sandal and clog collections alongside contemporary closed shoes, seasonal styles, accessories, and the Care Essentials range.
With this opening, Birkenstock now operates 63 brand stores across India, of which 26 are company-owned. The expansion underscores Chennai's increasing importance as a retail hub for international footwear brands.
