Tate McRae Debuts First Fragrance, Tate 01, With Scent Beauty
The pop star's debut eau de parfum, Tate 01, launches direct-to-consumer before arriving at Ulta Beauty online on Oct. 16 and in stores on Oct. 25, priced from $30 to $82.
Tate 01 is built around top notes of sparkling bergamot and clary sage, a heart of orange flower, Hedione and Iso E Super, and a base of moss, creamy tonka and an aura accord. The result is a subtly floral, fruity profile positioned to sit like a "second skin" and to amplify the wearer's natural pheromones.
Scent Beauty enlisted master perfumers Adriana Medina and Antoine Maisondieu to lead the formulation, though the singer was closely involved throughout — by her own joking admission, perhaps a little too closely, since she wanted to be present at every meeting.
McRae, 23, said she is drawn to rooms, clothing and scents that make her feel good, describing the fragrance as the most feminine and sensual version of herself. She added that she is highly particular about perfume and ties scent to memories and specific eras of her life, making a signature scent feel aligned with her current chapter as a woman.
The launch rolls out direct-to-consumer first, with Ulta Beauty carrying the scent online from Oct. 16 and adding it to store shelves on Oct. 25. Sizes vary, with prices spanning $30 to $82.
The project marks McRae's first move into fragrance, translating her creative sensibilities into a beauty category alongside her music career.
