Ras Al Khaimah Rewrites Its India Pitch: Premium, Not Just Cheaper Than Dubai
Ras Al Khaimah plans to reposition its India marketing from a budget alternative to Dubai to a premium, experience-led destination, with a brand relaunch set for early 2027.
Ras Al Khaimah is preparing to launch a new brand positioning in India in early 2027, according to Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority CEO Phillipa Harrison. The emirate's pitch will no longer emphasize proximity to Dubai or lower prices. Instead, it will market itself as a premium boutique leisure destination with signature experiences and wellness at the center.
The repositioning marks a strategic shift for the northern UAE emirate, which has long courted Indian travelers as a value alternative to its glitzy neighbor. Harrison said the new message moves away from being price-led and toward a premium positioning focused on signature experiences and wellness.
Ras Al Khaimah already has a well-established Indian wedding business. The new strategy aims to expand beyond that segment into areas such as meetings and events, while continuing to highlight luxury and experience-led leisure offerings.
The tourism authority believes the shift will help Ras Al Khaimah attract visitors who choose the emirate for its own merits rather than as a side trip from Dubai.
