Microsoft notches 10th consecutive record quarter as cloud revenue rises

Microsoft reported $92.3 billion in quarterly revenue, up 19% from a year earlier, extending its streak of record quarters to 10. Net income rose 32% to $36.6 billion, helped by cloud revenue of $63.9 billion.

The results, disclosed Wednesday, were driven by Microsoft Cloud, which grew 30% year over year to $63.9 billion. Net income on a GAAP basis reached $36.6 billion, up 32%.

Within cloud, Microsoft 365 accounted for nearly $28 billion in revenue, while Azure brought in $33.2 billion. Not all of that total is tied to AI; enterprises also use Azure to run traditional software and SaaS applications.

Microsoft has reorganized its reporting into two segments: Agents and Infra, and Devices and Consumer. The Devices and Consumer segment generated $15.5 billion, a 3% decline, as Windows OEM and devices revenue dropped 22%.

The $92.3 billion top-line figure marked a 19% increase over the year-ago quarter and the 10th straight quarter of record revenue for the company. The performance extends a streak driven largely by the strength of Microsoft Cloud, even as that cloud revenue includes non-AI workloads.

For now, the AI backdrop is proving highly favorable for Microsoft, with the latest quarter producing record revenue and profit growth.
