L’Oréal Names Rahquel Purcell Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer for North America

Rahquel Purcell has been appointed chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer for L’Oréal North America, effective immediately. She will report to Alexis Perakis-Valat, CEO of L’Oréal USA and president of L’Oréal North America.

Purcell, who has spent more than a decade at L’Oréal in senior roles, most recently served as the company’s inaugural chief transformation officer for the past four years. She joined L’Oréal in 2016 as vice president of supply chain for North America and later took on roles including vice president of operations and chief operations officer.

In her new position, Purcell will retain her seat on Margaret Johnston-Clarke’s global diversity, equity and inclusion leadership team, as well as her position on the L’Oréal USA management committee. The appointment takes effect immediately.

Perakis-Valat expressed confidence in Purcell’s operational expertise and leadership, noting that these qualities will help the company continue to cultivate an innovative and inclusive culture and accelerate progress in this high-priority area.

The move underscores L’Oréal’s continued focus on diversity and inclusion across its North American operations, with Purcell expected to drive strategic initiatives and support the company’s broader DEI goals.
