Kojima Productions has launched a limited-edition transparent orange CD player with audio maker km5, tapping into Gen Z's analog renaissance and love for physical media.
The limited-edition device is based on km5's Cp1 player and features a transparent neon orange finish inspired by the BB Pod from Death Stranding 2. Its minimalist picture-frame design includes a sleeve for displaying album art, blending retro aesthetics with modern function.
For connectivity, the player offers a nostalgic 3.5mm headphone jack alongside Bluetooth 5.3 support, allowing users to pair wireless earbuds or speakers. This hybrid approach caters to both traditionalists and contemporary listeners.
Priced at 25,300 JPY (approximately $160), the collectible was released at the Kojima Productions x Parco Games Strand Store launch event in Shibuya. Each unit includes exclusive postcards featuring scenes from the game, adding to its appeal as a fan-focused item.
