Kobe Airport Marks 20th Anniversary with Interactive Mystery Game
Kobe Airport invites travelers to solve a mystery in a smartphone-based adventure game running from August to October as part of its 20th anniversary celebrations.
Operated by Kansai Airports, Kobe Airport launched 'The Suitcase Left Behind: The Mystery Owner' on 4 August, an interactive experience that turns the terminal into a puzzle-filled crime scene. Travelers use their smartphones to gather clues, solve riddles, and uncover the story behind an abandoned suitcase.
The activity runs through 31 October across terminals 1 and 2. Participants who complete the challenge are entered into a prize draw, with 100 winners receiving original Kobe Airport merchandise.
The mystery game is part of a year-long program marking the airport's 20th anniversary since opening on 16 February. Earlier events included a Thanks Fair on 14-15 February at Kobe Harborland umie, DUO KOBE and the airport itself, featuring airline exhibits, local product showcases and tourism promotions.
Send-off ceremonies for departing flights were also held earlier in the anniversary year, involving multiple airlines. The immersive mystery adventure offers a fresh way for passengers to engage with the airport during its milestone year.
