Iris Ventures Takes Minority Stake in Probiotic Skincare Brand Krème

Krème, a French dermocosmetics brand specializing in ultra-sensitive skin, has secured a minority investment from Iris Ventures to fund European and U.S. expansion.

The investment marks the first external capital for Krème since its launch in 2020. The brand was cofounded by CEO Juliette Lailler and Marie Belile, and Iris Ventures is a growth equity firm focused on health, well-being and longevity.

Krème positions its clean, creamy formulations around nurturing the skin's microbiome, which the brand says helps protect against germs, pathogens and inflammation. The products are designed for ultra-sensitive skin and are sold through pharmacies and department stores.

The brand is currently available in 3,000 French pharmacies as well as at Galeries Lafayette, Samaritaine and Printemps Haussmann. It already has a presence in Belgium, and plans call for expanding into Spain and the U.K.

Lailler said Krème's revenue has doubled every year since its 2020 launch, making it one of France's fastest-growing skincare brands. The new funds will be used to expand the product range, scale the team and support European growth, with the U.S. to follow later.
