Imperial College First University to Launch Branded Merch With Wetland-Grown BioPuff Insulation
Imperial College London has become the first university to offer branded merchandise insulated with BioPuff, a sustainable material grown in wetlands.
The institution has introduced a line of outerwear featuring BioPuff, a plant-based insulation derived from wetland species such as cattails. The collection includes logo-emblazoned vests and jackets, offering a biodegradable alternative to traditional synthetic fill.
This launch aligns with Imperial College's sustainability commitments and provides students, staff, and alumni with eco-friendly apparel. The move also underscores the expanding use of wetland-grown materials in the fashion and merchandise sectors.
By pioneering this approach, Imperial sets a precedent for other universities to adopt sustainable sourcing for branded goods.
