Hilton Unveils Tempo Brand in China as Travel Demand Surges
Hilton has launched its Tempo by Hilton lifestyle brand in mainland China, marking the brand's Asia-Pacific debut as the company bets on sustained growth in the country's tourism sector.
The US hospitality group announced on Tuesday that it had signed several deals to bring the Tempo by Hilton brand to mainland China. The brand will target the growing demand for lifestyle-oriented accommodations among Chinese travellers.
Alan Watts, president of Hilton Asia-Pacific, said at a launch ceremony in Shanghai that Tempo's introduction reflects the company's confidence in the long-term fundamentals of the Chinese market. He noted the vast opportunity to meet increasing demand for experience-led lifestyle stays from the next generation of travellers.
The company emphasized that the brand offers Chinese hotel owners a scalable model to capture the rising interest in lifestyle hospitality. Watts added that Hilton would enable owners to unlock value through clear positioning, strong operational efficiency, and a growing network effect.
Tempo by Hilton is already present in several markets globally, but its entry into China represents a significant expansion in the Asia-Pacific region. Hilton's move comes as China's travel and tourism sector continues to recover and expand.
