ERL Parts Ways with Dover Street Market Incubator

Designer Eli Russell Linnetz's label ERL has exited Dover Street Market's brand development program, taking full control of its operations as it expands into womenswear.

ERL, the Venice Beach-based label founded by designer Eli Russell Linnetz, has split with Dover Street Market's brand development arm. The move gives the brand full autonomy over its operations as it prepares to enter the womenswear category.

The label had been part of Dover Street Market's incubator program, which supports emerging brands with distribution and operational resources. ERL is known for its playful, California-inspired menswear and has built a cult following since its launch.

By exiting the incubator, ERL gains complete control over its production, sales, and strategic direction. The brand is now focused on building a womenswear line, marking a significant expansion beyond its core menswear offering.

Linnetz, who also works as a creative director and photographer, launched ERL in 2018. The label quickly gained attention for its colorful, retro-infused designs and collaborations.

The separation from Dover Street Market comes as ERL seeks to scale independently and broaden its customer base with women's apparel.
