EDITION Hotels Plans to Double Portfolio to 38 Properties Within Five Years

EDITION Hotels has 16 new projects in its pipeline that will nearly double its global portfolio to 38 properties over the next five years, with locations spanning Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas.

EDITION Hotels, the Marriott International-backed luxury lifestyle brand, is embarking on a major expansion that will more than double its current footprint. The company has 16 new hotels in development, set to open over the next five years and bringing the total portfolio to 38 properties.

New destinations include Cape Town; Changfeng Park in Shanghai; Dali, China; Detroit; Riyadh; Chicago; Arava Desert, Israel; Dallas; Nashville; two locations in Bali (including Nusa Dua); Mumbai; Nayarit, Mexico; Dubai Beach; Milan; and Kuala Lumpur. The brand currently operates 22 hotels worldwide.

George Fleck, senior vice president and global brand leader, emphasised that EDITION’s growth strategy balances creative control with Marriott’s global infrastructure. "This approach allows the brand to maintain a clear point of view and a consistent level of creative control, while still benefiting from Marriott’s global infrastructure," he said.

Fleck noted that EDITION occupies a distinct position at the intersection of luxury lifestyle hospitality and culture, known for design-led interiors, upscale food and beverage, and vibrant nightlife. The brand collaborates with leading design studios such as Yabu Pushelberg and Rockwell Group on properties including London, Miami Beach, Times Square New York, Jeddah, and Riviera Maya.

With over 20 years in hospitality—first at Starwood Hotels & Resorts and later Marriott—Fleck said all brands within Marriott’s Luxury Group complement each other while maintaining distinct personalities. The expansion underscores Marriott’s bet on the growing luxury lifestyle segment.
