CyberHero Debuts Humanoid Robot Combat League in Riyadh
CyberHero, billed as the world’s first global humanoid robot sports league, launched in Riyadh with EngineAI T800 robots fighting in a purpose-built arena. The event marked the Middle East’s first humanoid robot combat competition and is backed by esports operator Hero Esports.
The launch event in Saudi Arabia’s capital featured EngineAI T800 humanoid robots facing off inside a purpose-built arena, a first for the Middle East. The spectacle combined elements of combat sports and esports, with the robots trading blows in a controlled environment.
Each T800 stands roughly 1.73 meters tall and weighs between 75 and 85 kilograms, making the machines about human-sized. They are equipped with 29 articulated joints and can walk, run, punch, kick, turn, and recover after taking a hit or falling.
CyberHero is positioned as the world’s first global humanoid robot sports league, aiming to move the machines from laboratory experiments into live entertainment. The Riyadh event served as its official debut.
Behind the league is Hero Esports, one of Asia’s largest esports operators. The company organizes more than 7,000 esports competitions annually that reach over 800 million fans worldwide.
Hero Esports’ portfolio includes major titles such as Honor of Kings, Peacekeeper Elite, League of Legends, and VALORANT. It also serves as a China partner of the Esports World Cup.
