Changsha Driver Wins a Ton of Gasoline for 100 Days of Clean Driving

A woman in Changsha, Hunan province, collected the equivalent of one ton of fuel after finishing a 100-day challenge with no traffic violations. Organizers delivered the loaded gas card to her door on October 22.

A motorist surnamed Wu took part in the 11th edition of the "Civilized Traffic I Take Action" 100-Day Challenge, which asks participants to drive for 100 consecutive days without recording a single traffic violation.

Wu, who said she needed several attempts to pass her driving test but has kept a nearly spotless record across seven years behind the wheel, was named the winner when results were announced on October 22. She was drawn from the pool of drivers who completed the challenge cleanly.

When the notification call came through, Wu assumed it was a scam. Her doubts ended when organizers arrived at her home to hand over a gas card preloaded with the equivalent of one ton of fuel.

The campaign dates back to 2015 and is intended to encourage road safety and orderly driving among local residents. Prizes in earlier years have included car insurance and international trips.

The award stands out for its scale and practicality, turning everyday compliance with traffic rules into a substantial fuel credit for one Changsha driver.
