Avolta wins seven-year duty-free contract at Kolkata Airport
Avolta will operate six duty-free stores at Kolkata's Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport under a seven-year concession, expanding its Indian footprint beyond Bengaluru.
The contract covers two departures and four arrivals stores, giving Avolta its first presence at the eastern Indian gateway. Kolkata is one of India's four major metropolitan cities and serves as a key hub for domestic and international travel.
Freda Cheung, Avolta President and CEO Asia Pacific, called the win an important milestone, saying it strengthens the company's position in one of Asia Pacific's most dynamic travel markets.
The concession extends Avolta's duty-free operations in India beyond its existing business at Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru.
Avolta noted the contract provides access to a large regional catchment area served by the airport, supporting its long-term growth strategy in India.
