Areas Opens Morro Fi Vermouth Bar at Barcelona-El Prat Airport
Global travel restaurateur Areas has launched Morro Fi, a Barcelona-inspired vermouth bar, at Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport, marking the first new venue in its F&B transformation for Aena.
The 137-square-meter venue is located in Terminal 1's departure area near the B gates. It offers travelers an authentic vermouth experience rooted in local gastronomy and Barcelona's aperitif culture.
The opening follows Areas winning the majority of food & beverage concessions awarded by airport operator Aena in 2025. Morro Fi is the first of several new dining concepts Areas plans to roll out across the airport in the coming months, combining international brands, proprietary concepts, and local operators.
Morro Fi began in 2007 as a food blog celebrating Barcelona's traditional bars. It opened its first physical venue in the Eixample district in 2010 and has since grown into one of the city's leading aperitif brands, with five locations.
The airport outlet serves Morro Fi's signature vermouth alongside premium preserves, gildas, pickled delicacies, hot and cold appetisers, and hot sandwiches made with locally sourced ingredients.
