AMD to Buy World Labs in $8.2 Billion AI Deal, Fei-Fei Li to Join as Chief Scientist

AMD has agreed to acquire World Labs, the deep learning startup founded by AI pioneer Fei-Fei Li, for $8.2 billion. Li will join AMD as executive vice president and chief scientist once the deal closes.
