VMH Swiss to Debut Mettler 1929 and Victoria 1905 in Travel Retail at TFWA Cannes
Brand representative VMH Swiss is bringing Swiss premium skincare label Mettler 1929 and Swedish heritage skincare name Victoria 1905 into the travel retail channel, using next week's TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes as the launch platform.
Both labels are being positioned as offering significant potential in duty-free and airport retail, according to VMH Swiss. Mettler 1929 is described as a premium Swiss skincare brand, while Victoria 1905 carries Swedish skincare heritage credentials.
The two names will be introduced at the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes next week, where VMH Swiss will be located at Riviera Village RF12. For Mettler 1929, the show will feature travel retail-exclusive sets alongside a curated assortment built around hero products.
VMH Swiss characterises travel retail as a genuine brand-building channel and a global showcase for its portfolio. It points to research from m1nd-set indicating that roughly two-thirds of duty-free shoppers look for products they cannot buy elsewhere, and that self-purchase has climbed from the mid-40% range in 2016 to 59% in 2026.
The company also stresses the role of storytelling, a sense of place and clear value, arguing that brands need to give travellers a reason to walk into a store at a time of modest footfall across the industry.
Meeting those conditions, VMH Swiss says, requires dedicated programmes that put the consumer at the centre. It adds that its brands have been given offers developed specifically for the travel retail channel.
