St. Regis Budapest Occupies Restored Klotild Palace Landmark
The St. Regis Budapest sits inside the Belle Époque Klotild Palace, a UNESCO-protected monument in the Hungarian capital, offering 63 rooms and 39 suites. Rooms and suites rank among the largest in the city, with the two-bedroom Presidential Suite spanning more than 169 square metres.
The hotel occupies the Klotild Palace, a Belle Époque building that has been carefully restored and renovated. The structure once served as the ceremonial entrance to Pest for travellers crossing the Elisabeth Bridge, and its defining 48-metre tower is adorned with enlarged replicas of Archduke Joseph Karl's crown. The palace is a protected, UNESCO-listed architectural site.
The room count is deliberately small: 63 rooms and 39 suites, a configuration the property presents as a route to privacy and exclusivity supported by highly personalised service. Among the accommodation options are the Klotild Tower Suite and a two-bedroom Presidential Suite that extends over 169 square metres.
The Presidential Suite includes a private balcony with sweeping Danube and city views that take in the Elizabeth Bridge and the Citadella. Rooms and suites are described as among the largest in Budapest, distinctive for their brightness and abundant natural light.
Design details draw on Hungarian craft and materials, including wooden fixtures and floors, tiles and traditional Hungarian tile stoves. Interiors take their cue from Budapest's long-standing connection to the Opera House, which opened in the city in 1884.
Accommodations are conceived as a private theatre box framed by city views, while brass-accented bedside details echo the city's Art-Nouveau decorative tradition. The property is set in the heart of Budapest, within walking distance of many of the capital's attractions.
